Best practices

How to get the most from this form.

Ask one qualifying question

A single question like 'What's your main use case?' or 'Your role' gives you enough data to segment and prioritize invites without adding friction.

Make it feel exclusive

The confirmation message should reinforce urgency: 'You're on the list — we'll reach out as spots open.' People value what feels limited.

Keep the form to 3–4 fields

Name, email, and one qualifying question. Waitlists get the best signups when they're frictionless. You can collect more information once they're actually onboarded.

Export and tag your waitlist early

Export submissions to CSV regularly. Tag people by role or use case so your first invite batch can be targeted to your best-fit early adopters.

FAQ

Common questions.

What should a waitlist form collect?
At minimum: Name and Email. Optionally: Role, Company, and one qualifying question about their use case. Keeping it short maximizes signups. You can collect more detail when you send the invite.
How is a waitlist form different from a lead capture form?
A waitlist form positions the signup as exclusive or capacity-limited — the user is waiting to be invited. A lead capture form is open for anyone. Both collect similar information, but the framing and confirmation message differ.
Can I build a waitlist before my product is live?
Yes. You can publish a Formiqa form with no account required from respondents. Share the URL before your product launches to start collecting interest.
How do I notify waitlist signups when I'm ready to invite them?
Export your waitlist submissions to CSV and email your list through your preferred email tool (Resend, Mailchimp, etc.). Formiqa collects and stores the submissions — outbound emailing is handled by your email provider.
Can I add a waitlist form to a landing page?
Yes. Use the embed code from the Share menu to embed the form directly on your landing page. Embedded forms typically convert better than linked forms.
